i have an old 870 Wingmaster with a 30 inch plain barrel non ventilated. I broke the bead sight off of it somehow. Anyone have any do it yourself ideas on making a bead on the barrel? Any help would be appreciated.

There are several fiber optic sights available, for a quick and easy solution. Make sure to check the width of your rib on the barrel. HiViz and TruGlo are 2 companies that come to mind.
If you're set on getting another bead, checkout Brownells for an 870 replacement. You have 2 options there...drill & tap another hole for the new bead, or back out the snapped off screw-base from the bead that broke. These are not impossible as DIY projects, but a gunsmith could do it fast(er).
Good luck

Seems to me to be an easy fix. But if you don't have access to a drill press or a very steady hand I wouldn't attempt it. It wouldn't be too difficult to drill a small hole in the center and a tiny easy out to remove the old bead then screw in a new one. But a gunsmith could do this quickly and it shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks.
Another thing you can do is get a low profile fiber optic sight and epoxy it to the barrel. A good quality epoxy will hold the sight on forever.
