Of course we all know that a perfect deer cartridge doesn't exist, but in my opinion the 7mm-08 Rem is awfully close. Flat shooting, low recoil, high energy and the versatility of a 7mm bullet make it a great cartridge.

With the exception to bears (both black and grizly), the 7mm-08 is great for all N. American game out to 250-300 yds.
It will kill a bear, but I would hate to be in a situation where I was confronted by one in heavy brush, and only had a 7mm-08.
that said...happy hunting! you've got a great calliber to work with!

I don't have one.....but it's on my "list" to acquire. I favor cartridges that have great sectional density along with good BC, light recoil and great accuracy. Who wouldn't..........the 7mm/08 has'em all.
