The problem that I had with the pad, part #10102, was that it was about 1/8" narrow on each side of the stock and the holes did not line up. I looked at all of the templates on Limbsaver's site and I couldn't find one that looked like it might work. I am betting that the pad for the straight stock is different than the one on the pistol grip stocks that we have. If you get one and it works, let me know. I had also thought about taking off the stock pad and using a slip on but they look so ugly.
I shot about 60 rounds on Friday and it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would, actually not at all, but I was wearing my shooting jacket. I am sure that some hotter handloads would start to punish my shoulder after a while.

You might want to check w/ Marlin. I have a new 1895 in .450 Marlin and the factory recoil pad that came w/ the gun works great. It is about 1" thick and it really seems to work great. My friends wife who weighs about 120 lbs can shoot it w/ no problems.
