I agree with the 308 Win. Excellent all around caliber for a young man. It will probably be his favorite when he becomes an adult.

Wow! that's what is meant buy a Growing Boy.

I'll be 46 next month. I'm 6' 5" and weight about 290 right now. Going into the fall I'll drop down between 265 and 275. My wife is 6' 4" and we have two kids. They will probably be a lot bigger than us when they get grown.

if the recoil doesnt bother him, get him a 300. He'll be able to hunt anything he wants until the day he dies and never be undergunned. It's a hard caliber not to love. the proof is in the performance. Recoil is the only drawback.
