Pistols, I like Glocks for defense and carry guns, Dan Wesson 1911 for competition, and Ruger 22's. Revolvers, do they make anything else but Ruger?

glock 23 .40 cal is an excellent choice 13rnds and easily concealed. but with any pistol particularly a glock range time is a must. onif you have never shot a glock the trigger takes some getting used to.

For carry around town areas I like H&K. Hunting I'll usually take my Freedom Arms, and for carry in the woods (berry picking, fishing, etc) it's always a Ruger.
