Fit and finish quality, accuracy, feel, accuracy, design. Oh, and accuracy.

Dependability (if I'm shooting a bolt action that shouldn't be an issue
Do you think that all Bolt's are dependable to the same degree?

Accuracy ,dependability and price are of equal importance to me.The rest of the items listed are not important to me.

Dependability, and accuracy! And equal to these, if not more importantly, a good trigger!
Trigger jobs on my hunting guns has doubled their accuracy, and have been worth every penny!

All my guns will be in the woods some time of the year so dependability is very important than I need it to be accurate. If it holds a 1 inch group at 200 yards but dont work half the time there aint no reason for me to put it in my cabnit.

1. Styling. For example, I would rather have a rifle/gun in stainless then blued.
2. Accuracy. The first shot counts the most.
3. Dependability. Because a rifle with looks and accuracy that only fires every third time you pull the trigger just stinks.
4. Price. What am I, made of gold?

The rest are a wash for me personally.

First off it has to work right every time. Then it must shoot well. Looks mean nothing to me if the first two demands are filled.

I guess if I was pressed to put things in a certain order of importance it would be as follows:

1. Dependability (main reason I quit buying Rem. 700's, too many extractor problems)
2. Accuracy (doesn't have to be a tack driver, but it doesn't hurt)
3. Basic design (CRF vs. PF, fixed ejector vs. plunger, 3 lug bolt vs. 2 lug, etc, etc...)
4. Safety design (got to have a safety that blocks the firing pin, another reason I won't buy a 700)
5. Fit (some guns just don't feel right in my hands)
6. Quality of workmanship (I don't mind paying more for quality)
7. Looks (I prefer a nicely figured walnut stock to anything synthetic)

That about does it. I don't really care if others are impressed or not by my guns. I only care about pleasing myself.

most guys know which name of guns to buy. weight is a big factor for me. if i am going to be in the woods all day i want a light weight. and if i am going varmint hunting i like the heavy barrels.:)
