First of all it is a magazine, not a clip. Magazines have springs, clips don't. Secondly the 597 has problems feeding with a ten round magazine so I don't know why you would want to try a 20. Lastly, magazines of new manufacture are limited to 10 rounds by law and since the 597 came out after Klintons crime bill, you might be out of luck.

Frizzellr, you took the words right off my keyboard!
My 597 jams 3 out of 10 rounds! Why would I want more jams?
I'll probably end up using my 597 for a troutline anchor one day. At least it will be good for something!
Also Frizzellr, I'd give up on the magazine/clip thing, even Remmington is calling 'em clips these days! Does'nt say much for the new Remmingtons!!!!!

Marlin errantly calls them clips too. What is the world coming to? You think that 597 is heavy enough to make a good trotline sinker? I was going to use mine as a door prop until someone said they wanted it, so I gave it to them. See I really didn't like them much.

frizzellr,
Do you think that it makes you sound smart to correct everyone when a question like this comes up? You obviously knew what he was asking, so who cares what he calls it. Everytime someone has a question like this, you fire back with the same response. Why don't you spare us all, and just answer the question.

SmokPol, I did answer his question. If you call a truck a bulldozer does it make it so even if you know what you are talking about? I will stop when people learn the difference between a magazine and a clip. Have a nice day.

Sorry but the reason i was like that is because he says the same thing everytime. Every calls a magazine a clip its not that big of a deal. I just asked if i could have gotten a clip for it all you had to say was no you cannot because of this law.

Well actually it is a big deal since they don't use clips. They use magazines. Some people actually appreciate a little education now and then, but if you guys want to be blissfully ignorant then so be it. Next you will be wanting to call a shotgun a rifle.
