I was at Wally World today and saw a new product ,''at least i never noticed it.'' It's made by Outers. You squirt this foam in the barrel and it gets all the copper fouling out. Has anyone out there tried this product and know if it is as good as Hoppe's Bench Rest Copper Solvent ?

I tried it. Worked OK for me. Tried some Hoppes behind it and some Butches and they didin't get any more copper out. I did do two applications before I swabbed it out and let it sit for about 10 minutes each time.

I used the stuff and now swear by it , i will never use any other product that claims to remove copper, that hoppes copper solvent is worthless along with others that claim to remove copper.

The barrel of my M700 in 308 had so much copper fouling you could see it just looking down the bore looked like a copper lined barrel, one session with that outers foam and every bit of the copper is gone. but I do almost wonder if me using kroil to clean the bore after using the foam had anything to do with my awesome results.

Some of them new cleaner formulations can do pretty amazing stuff. I haven't tried the Outer's foam yet, but Hoppes Elite has stripped some of my really badly fouled bores right down to shiny metal without much time or effort.

If someone is getting all the copper out of their bore in one session then your bore never really had a lot of copper fouling in it at all.

'OK' in my terms is equal to 'good' or 'well'. It wasn't 'just OK'. That is the reason I followed up with the comment about not being able to get any more out with the other solvents.

BTW, I was in Scottsdale this past weekend and it looks like I may be moving out to your great state within a month. We're looking for a home in the Anthem area, possibly as far north as Payson.
