Have had both between my VarXIII and my Zeiss Conquest hands down the zeiss wins by far. I have not yet used any of the new Leupold Scopes they started in 2004 but I hope they perform more like the other highend maker products . My side note: when I purchase items I try to support my fellow Made in America workers (NOT NAFTA) sometimes it might cost alittle more but the workmanship usually shows. God Bless the USA

Based on the price, go with the Zeiss.

Based on optics, go with the Zeiss.

Bottomline, go with the Zeiss.....

I have a Zeiss 3X9 on my Ruger 77 UL and use 8X30 Zeiss binoculars. I have a Leopold on my Ithica slug gun and the Zeiss is far better and it is 10 yrs old.
