You mean to tell me out of all those rifles you got, all are 700's. No model 70s, rugers, brownings, sakos, or tikka? None? Well that explains your success with it. I think this feller walks a different path however

slug guns, rifles and rimfires and crossbow

Where I live I don't have access to ranges with such short shooting distances, only 50, 100,and 200yd on public ranges owned by the state game commission. To set up a target at any other distance can result in a fine. You can walk your POI in like you said but I use the boresighter to make my adjustments that's where the time and ammo savings come in to it for me. If you don't want to use a boresighter then don't but I will continue to use mine.

I think the guy wants to do something a tad different. I was trying to explain to him the difficulties with what he wants to do, and why it really wouldn't benefit him much and other alternatives.

Congradulations on you and your boresighter. Seems you all make a good couple.

I have owned winchester, brownings, rugers, howas, sako's,weatherby 's,smith&wessons, ithacas and parker hale.I still own my first rifle which is a 1950 model 94 but it has only been used once in over 20 years and that was to kill a cougar at 30 feet. All of my current hunting, varmint and target rifles are built on 700 actions.

I have to agree with Drift. More trouble than it's worth. Buy a scope for each setup.

I certainly do agree with that point although a boresighter will still be useful for sighting in those scopres.
