speaking of that, this past weekend I was at the store and i picked up a box of .243 WSSM. Have you seen those little suckers?? it is a VERY funny looking little round. Only about an inch or inch and a quarter long and about as think as a .300...kinda cute really.

Weatherby has made one for years. The .240 Weatherby. The new .243 WSSM looks like it will be a nice round as well, though I think the Weatherby still has a little advantage in speed.

Win does make a .243 mag, its called a .243 winchester super short mangnum. (.243 WSSM) balistics show it to be a tad better than a regular .243 however their are some saying that they are not getting the ballistics that winchester claims. So it might just be on par with the .243. use a premium bullet in the .243 like the federal 100 gr, sierras and they perform quite well and are very flat shooting.

Winchester loads a 55 gr. ballistic tip thats shooting 3910 FPS for a regular .243 and is super flat shooting like 27" drop @500yds with it sighted zero @200
