Anybody here hunt with a T/C Encore?

Sure do 7mm-08 with a 15" barrel...can print 3" groups at 200 yards (for you rifle guys that is pretty good without a stock) from a bipod.... I quit carrying my rifle completely...when I deer hunt (which isn't that often recently). It requires a bit of practice to become a good shot, but it's a lot of fun and addictive. I like the 15" barrels better than the 12's but the muzzle blast is pretty serious on both.

PaJack, I'm getting mine in .260 Remington (6.5 mm) which is just slightly smaller tha the 7-08. I was torn between the 7-08 and the .260 but since I have a .260 rifle I went with the same caliber because I like it so much.

Some of the SSK Industries barrels are pretty hot for the Encore/conternder. They specialize in barrels for these guns, have a LOT of calibers for them. I've used a .300 Whisper barrel before, it shot very well without so much muzzle blast. Just my 2 cents.

I deer hunt with the 15 inch in .308, topped with a Nikon 1.5-5X scope and love it! Using Winchester Fail Safe ammo, it'll print sub MOA. Like Gordon said, the muzzleblast is rough! So, I'd suggest investing is some good muffs if you don't already have some. I also have the .308 rifle barrel, but after getting the pistol barrel, I doubt it'll ever see daylight again.lol

Thanks for the new resource amsorak. I was going to buy a barrell from E Arthur Brown Company. The 500 S&W looks like it would be the ticket for the hogs here in Texas.
