.243 Winchester
in one of my previous someone said that he uses a .243 for moose. Is that possible?
thank you for your time SUPPORT FREE HUNTERS AND THE NRA |
RE: .243 Winchester
It is "possible" to use a 22 but maybe not advisable.
Added in edit. Hit the wrong button. While moose aren't hard to kill and I like the 243 I don't believe it is what I'd call a good match. Moose have big bones more ooomph is needed. |
RE: .243 Winchester
243 is a great moose round if your real close and hit him in the slats otherwise fughetaboutit...I know just a few lunatics that have shot Elk with 243's and recovered said animals not to consider that but it would be far removed from my first choice.

RE: .243 Winchester
It can be done. We were 35 miles into the wilderness when the horse w/ my dads rifle decided he was seabisciut and took off, then he decided to do some gymnastics, thereby snapping the stock off dads rifle. we had a 6mm along for deer and that was what he had when he found his moose, one shot down he goes, It wouldnt be my choice though.
