    Here's what you need:

    Late 80's Marlin 30AS, 30-30 with see-thru sights. Mine has a bit too much scope on it though (Simmons Pro Hunter 4-12x40 AO).

    I shot a 190 class buck at 400 with a .280
    Man, compared to your cousin you suck! According to you he has shot a deer at 900 yards with a 22-250 and you need a .280 to shoot a deer at 400. Wow, this is getting better every minute.

    No really if it is only for deer and nothing bigger get a 22-250. My cousin shot a deer out to 900 yds. Good Luck

    between a 06 and 30-30 there's no question the 06 is MUCH more versatile. get the 30-06 and let your collarbone heal.
