You might consider purchasing a rifled choke tube for your 500 and shoot sabots.

I would use the IC for slugs . It will not shoot saboted slugs ,they need a rifled barrel.

IC , is fine. Just use rifled/Foster type slugs. Lightfield does make a hybrid sabot for smoothbore , its the EXP

JohnL it sounds like you had somthing in your barrel , mud ? Lead slugs should not do that . A freind have shot lots of slugs of his full barrel.

IC all the way. That is wat their plain slug barrel is, IC with rifle sights. I shot that combo for years in my 500. But, just hooked it up with a new cantilevered rifled barrel w/3x9x40mm scope with lit recticle. SWEET! 100 yards, here I come with confidence and a 1900 FPS Win. Sabot!

Wanna buy a slightly used slug barrel? Only been point at 10 or 12 deer...
