I have a question about two guns and which one is the better of the two. I am debating between the Smith and Wesson SIGMA SW40VE and the Taurus PT140. I want to know which one you think is a better overall gun for just shooting at the range and plunking around.
Thank you,
Jeremy A.

I'm a big fan of Smith and Wesson revolvers, but don't care much for their autos, espically the Sigma series. I've heard of some feeding problems and the firing pin is junk!!! I've known of more than one breaking because of its design. They may have changed it, I don't know. Between the choices you've given, I'd have to go with the Taurus.

Easy question and easy answer. Taurus. Compare the warranty cause I don't think the two autos are comparable. The english tranlation of Sigma = junk.

The newer Sigmas have a better reputation than the eariler guns. The first Sigmas had a few problems. I've found Taurus quality to run from poor to excellent. It seems to vary from product to product and over the years.
I'm not a fan of either gun, but everyone has their own opinions and normally anytime someone tells you "but a Remchester Maganum, they're the best" it's because that's what he/she owns. I'd buy the one that felt the most comfortable to me and had the controls (safety, trigger, etc.) that I prefered.
