RE: Nikon Monarch

Let's see, you go buy a $200 scope which on a very off chance happens to be defective...

You go burn $40 worth of ammo before you figure out that the scope doesn't work right, which is about two boxes of ammo I'd guess. So it took you roughly 40 shots to figure out the turrets didn't work, which is your fault because you're the one who kept shooting despite the fact that you had to have known there was a problem inside the first 10 shots.

You took not one but TWO trips to the range to figure out the scope was dorked up, driving a total of roughly 80 miles. Assuming your vehicle gets, say, 15mpg, you probably burned about 5 gallons of gas for a cost of roughly $10.

Then, after you FINALLY got a clue that the scope wasn't working right, you wisely sent it back to Nikon to get checked out, only to have them confirm that it was, in fact, the scope that was messed up, and to compensate you they sent you back a Monarch UCC scope that sells on for $308 at MidwayUSA.

So let's do the math...

$200+$40+$10+$7.50 (for shipping to Nikon)=$257.50

$308.00-$257.50=$50.50...which is profit in your pocket.

So what's the bottom line...

You are one ungrateful, negative SOB who wouldn't appreciate a good thing if it walked up and smacked you upside the head.

Oh, and to answer the question at hand...I have a Nikon Monarch UCC 6.5-20X44 AO target scope on my varmint rifle, and it is by far the finest scope I've had the pleasure of watching a groundhog die through. Very clear out to the edges, excellent contrast and light transmission right up into twilight, and the 1/8" click adjustments are dead on accurate and completely repeatable. It was a bit more spendy than I'm used too, but it's worth every penny if you can afford one. In fact, the Monarchs are a great value considering a comparable scope of similar optical quality from Leupold will cost you at least $100 more.

If you buy the Monarch you won't be disappointed, unless you're like redhead and wouldn't be happy if you woke up one morning buff and rich with a Victoria's Secret model sitting on your face.
