I just purchased a used Remington .338 UM.
The action has the "MODEL 700" stamped on it and appears to be a BDL version by the look of the stock and the jeweled bolt. But there is scroll work all over the action and hinged receiver plate, with a Ram's head scrolled on the hinge plate.
Remington's website doesn't describe a model like this, at least not that I have found. Any idea's on how to find exactly what the "type" of model 700 it is?

A buddy of mine has a gun with all the same details and engravings on it, only its chambered for 30-06 springfield. Your rifle is a Model 700 BDL, the engravings do not mean anything other then they may help the rifle hold collectors value.
