I had posted a thread earlier about buying a .270 and after shopping around a bit i was kind of leaning towards a 7mm that i saw. It is used gun made by remington with a nice 4x12 redfield scope on it. I think the only thing that was really wrong with it was a little wear on the end of the barrel. I was just wondering what everybody thought about that type of gun and whether or not I should buy a used one. Also, what do you think about a .270 compared to a 7mm.

7MM is only a reference to bullet diameter which in this case is .284. Which 7MM are you talking about? There are a plethora of 7mm's available. The 7X57, 7MM-08, 284 Win, 280 Rem/7MM Express, 7MM Rem & Weatherby Mags, 7MM WSM & SAUM, also the Rem Ultra Mag. There are others that exist as wildcats.

Wear on the outer barrel, like blueing wearing off, or is the crown damaged? I wouldn't get it if the crown was damaged.
