A good friend of mine suggested a rifle scope to put on my soon to be purchased 7M MAG or 300 Mag. Has anyone heard about the German made Kahles rifle scopes? I understand they are owned by Swarovski. I have been a Leupold loyalist, but am looking for something different. I know Swarovski makes some of the finest optics in the world. I would appreciate any thoughts.
P.S. I am now leaning toward a Tikka rifle to place this scope on.

I have used swarovski, ziess and leupold and would take a kahles over the leupold any time. They are a lower priced swarovski and the optics are superior to leupold.

A couple months ago I read an article about Kahles scopes (in Whitetail Journal?). The author had very good things to say about them. He made them sound like a very good scope. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out. Critch
P.S. I'm picking up my new Tikka .223 on Thursday...it will get good optics.

I compared a Leupold VX-11 3-9x50, Swarovski 3-9x36, Kahles 2-7x42. The Kahles and Swarovski were brighter than the Leupold.
The salesman said the Swarovski and Kahles are made by same company. Swar. polishes thier lenses by hand and the Kahles method is automated. I liked the finish on the Kahles tube.
I bought the Swarovski.
