Default Beretta Golden Snipe

I just bought one of these with 30" barrels (IM/F) with vented rib.
Having trouble finding any info.
Does anyone know if this gun was marketed as a 'trap' model?

Any other info is appreciated.

Thanks folks.

Go Red Sox!

The Golden Snipe was introduced in 1955 and in 1975. This is a boxlock gun that was available in 12 and 20 gauge. It was primarily marketed as a field gun but was also available in Trap and Skeet Models. Trap Models generally should have a broad rib and a higher comb than the field models.

Hey Stalker:

Thanks for the 'get back'.
I didn't know that they had a run of them in '75.
This gun fits me real good and has not been shot a whole lot.

I paid $495 for it!

I don't know what it weighs, but it hunted pretty well for several hours. I chase 'Grouse' in the thick stuff so the barrels are a
bit long. I'm used to a Citori 'Lightning Feather' in 26" barrels, but it ain't bad.

I'm planning to shoot some trap with it tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it.

Thanks again.

Sorry , I meant to say that they were discontinued in 75. I think you made a good buy. Hope that you enjoy it.

Stalker:

I thought that may have been the case. Wasn't sure, though.
So, far so good--it suits me. The trap shooting is actually Saturday morning. I was a day ahead of myself. I'll have a better feel for the gun after shooting it a bit.
It hit the apple I pointed at, though.
;-)
