Default Going Hunting

Heading out today. Private land early Doe season. Taking my Winchester M70 Heavy Varmit in .308 and my Marlin 336SS in 30-30. Filling the freezer!

Good luck on your hunt. Our gun season starts around Nov. 20, so I have to wait a little while longer since I don't bow hunt any longer. I am going to camp this weekend, however, just to get out into the woods and maybe do some squirrel hunting.

Which of those guns do you prefer? I think it would be the Winch. for me.

Here in Oregon the season opened on Oct. 2

I hunt with an old friend of mine on some private lands near his house, I actually got the 1st 3 days of this season off. We hunted a little each day and kicked up lots of does and fawns but no bucks.

We'll try again on tues/wed. this week then I won't be able to go until the 23rd when the doe season opens.

Hunting partner is hinting that this will probably be his last year as the age and pain is starting to wear thin on him. He says it is hell to get old but I don't know, I think its hell to watch someone get old.
