Unless you are going to be taking shots into the next zip code, the .300 wsm doesn't do anything the 30-06 can't do, except cost alot more to shoot.

Personally, when you're "upgrading" from a .270 to a "stronger" 30cal for deer, you're wasting money and recoil. The .270 is perfectly capable of handling anything you'll ever need, the .30-06 or the .300WSM won't do it any better, so why get one when you've got the .270? If you're going to get another deer rifle in a bolt action of the same capabilities, you might as well get the same cartrige too, so you don't have to buy two types of ammo to get the same experience.

Since you're looking for another gun, you might as well make it a different gun/loading...look at a lever rifle maybe? Get a .444Marlin, .450Marlin, .45-70, .38-55, .30-30 and you'll have a lot of fun. Or you could look into getting a BLR (browning) in .30-06, at least then you'd be getting a different rifle.

Just picking from those you mentioned, I'd skip the 30cal step and buy a 7mm-08 in a leveraction rifle, and leave the 30cals to someone else.

Heck, find an accurate SKS and have some fun hunting with it, but there's really no sense in buying a rifle of the same action within the same power category as your current rifle. Variety is the spice of life.

Love the 30-06 so that first, then maybe 7mm-08 or a 25-06

I vote with a few of the others, a big bore lever gun .444 Marlin or larger, then something around .243 that can possibly serve as a varmit rifle/light deer rifle.
