RE: Remington 700- What do U think of it?

I was looking at a Rem 700 ADL in 30-06 today, and I used to have a standard weight barrel in .222 for many, many years. I always appreciated the 700's accuracy. If does lack a floor plate but I don't think it justifies the extra money to go to a BDL for that. The piece I saw this morning had a matte finish and matte synthetic stock. A very low-light rifle. The bolt moved a bit more roughly than my old ADL did but I think it is still a good buy.

700's?
I've got a couple of them.
They are okay.
My first personal "high-power" rifle was a 700ADL in 270. BDL's are nice, but really no big deal to me.

However, as long as CZ keeps doing their thing, it is unlikely I'll be buying any American rifles in the near future. If I do it will likely be a Winchester M-70.

Personally, I consider the choice of cartridge for the given task to be more important the the rifle that comes along with it. [as long as DG is not on the menu].

Good Luck,
EKM

Thank you everyone for your reply. I really appricate it. I'm probable going to go with the ADL based on price and that I don't want to take something good looking into the field where it might get messed up. Thanks again.

ADL, BDL ? As noted, the BDL is just a fancier version having better wood, glossier finish (not all that good for hunting - too much shine), and has the hinged floorplate.
Both are the same barreled action - Rem. 700. Difference is in how they are put up, and of course, how much $ you want to spend.
But why limit yourself to looking at the ADL/BDL. Take a look at the Rem.700 Mountain
Rifles. They come with clip/magazines - no floor plate needed, and have some nice wood stocks. OR, as I did, get the LSS Mountain Rifle - stainless steel barrel &action with laminated stock. Mine is a .270. Very accurate, fairly decent trigger (which is easily adjustable by any competent gunsmith), light weight, and has the pleasant tendency to shoot several different factory loads to the same POI with varying bullet weights. I think the LSS is probably one of the best buys out there today if you can limit your cartridge selection. Oh yeah, LSS has a floorplate too.
