Heck yeah go for it makes a great brush hunting setup, I have mine setup with a Leupold M-8 fixed power 2.5x28mm scope with quick detach weaver mounts and replaced the open sights with ghost ring sights. So when we decide to drive the deer I take the scope off put it in my pack. Those ghost ring sights aren't real accurate for long range which they were not designed for but for a deer jumping from the brush 10 yards in front of ya I couldnt ask for a sight that lines up faster. that combination on a marlin 1894PG with 44 magnum handloads loaded with Barnes 225 grain XPB bullets is quite deadly for any dense woods or brush deer hunting. but would be just as good on a 336
