A bunch of years ago I was at a range and got to shoot a guy's Barret .50 cal sniper rifle...........[:-]
I distinctly remember wondering what that would do to a deer. I also remember feeling like I just increased my "Personal Space" by about 1/2 mile or so.

I shot a doe a couple of years ago with a .458 Win. Mag. with 500 gr. JSPs. She spun like a football on end and piled up in the same spot. People thought I was crazy but I had practically no lost meat from this doe. But it was also a perfect broadside shot through the ribs, no shoulders. The buck I shot the day before with a .270 w/ HPBTs had much more damage than the doe that I threw the brick at.
I don't believe you can use too much gun, but you can certainly use too little gun!
