Does anyone know how to mount a scope on a K98???
Please help me!

Take it to a gunsmith and have the receiver drilled and tapped. It will cost you $75 to $100 to do this.

If you want a dependable mount system, do not waste time and money on a "no-tap" mount, no matter what the maker says. A good solid mount is the basis for any sort of accuracy that you will get from a scope mounted rifle. If the rifle is a collectable, you will need to weigh the aspects of destroying much of it's collector value by tapping the receiver. In today's world, you may be way ahead of you simply buy a Savage Package Rifle and save the old Mauser for the museum. After all the money that you may spend on the 98k, in order to end up with a passable hunting rifle, you may find out that you are still disappointed in the accuracy that the old world, old technology bore can produce. I am in no way down on military surplus conversions. I have owned and shot a fair number of those, even to the point of having a couple re-barreled and re-chambered. Had a really beautiful 98k in 8mm-06 Ackley Improved. The practical ballistics that I could produce from that rifle only slightly edged out a garden variety 30-06 and I had a bundle in the thing.

I have k98 Mauser that I purchased for a good price already sporterized. This is a real nice looking rifle with a scope. I get 3 shot groups right at 1" at 100 yds with 180 and 200 grain pellets. It is a fine hunting rifle and fun to shoot. It's recoil is a bit less than my 30-06. Ballistics in the same weight bullet are just under a 30-06.

the boldt handle has to be bent so it turns down like a normal bolt.....saftey has to be changed to a diffrent saftey.....and the reciever has to be drilled and tapped......i got it all done for 50.....plus bases and rings.....but i think something got screwd up....the gunsmith forgot about it and took a long time and didnt charge me for the work or something....i dont know....i was like 13......im only 17 now but me and the mauser been through alot......i cant remember what happend wit hthat but i got it done cheap.....
