All I have ever used are core lokts in my 243. Only on a few angled shots has the bullet failed to exit, and then it was under the hide and had done a devastating job on the deer.

I would say the 100gr Speer Grand Slam over the Nosler Partition. I have had better results, accurary wise, with the Speer Grand Slam. And they do get the job deer on deer and boar! The Hornady SSt looks like a good bullet as well, but I don't have any first hand knowledge of it's performance on deer sized game.

DM now you have heard it the first time that Nosler Partition with lead comming out the back of them

Hey Mark,

Read what i said again. I said, "In the several hundred NP's i've shot, in fact probably over a thousand, i've NEVER had the lead come out of the back!!! I've never seen it happened for anyone else either!"

Key word "seen".

In my lifetime i've "heard" many things, but for hard facts, i prefer to have "seen" it myself, or at least know the experence of the person telling me about it. I'm not saying it didn't happen to you, but i am saying in all the thousands of Noslers partitions me, my family, and friends have shot, i've never had it happen to me, or seen it happen to them either.

If it happened to you, your case is so far from normal, i don't think the origional poster has to worry about it happening to him too!!

BTW, keep in mind i owned and ran a gun shop for many years in Alaska where NP's are the bullet all others are compared too!! I specialized in reloading equipment, and also taught reloading, and not one of my customers ever told me of a problem with NP's either.

Nosler partition
Another vote for the Nosler partition. I used the Ballistic Silver Tip two years ago for antelope. Didn't like it. I happened to hit the shoulder blade and the bullet turned and went up out the back. This was at a range of about 70 yards.

Good Luck!

Barnes-X 80-95 gr. Partitions are good also. Berger makes some highly accurate bullets, but arent suited for game, just varmits.
