If anyone has one of these could they tell me how the factory bedded the barrels...I slipped a super shadow action into a Featherweight stock and it seems the barrel channel is tight almost full length bed to the tip. I am pretty sure this is not normal. ANy help would be helpful. It could be a 270wsm,7wsm or 300 wsm for that matter.

They barrel contours are all the same on Winchesters WSM's ...I have seen a few new featherweights and visually they seemed tight as well. But without buying the gun could not take it apart and see the clearances. It appears the one I own has uneven bedding surfaces in the barrel channel(SHocked) . This would be the second featherweight I own with this bedding problem. I'm going to toss it and get a replacement glass stock.

I have one in 270wsm. When i got it, it had this hot glue looking stuff coming out of th stuck around the barrel. Ive never taken the stock off the gun. Would a picture of the stock off the gun tell you what you wanted to know?

Carpicon, tight as in a piece of typing paper couldn't slip underneath the barrel to the next side? All the ones I have seen in gun stores seem to be similiar. Thanks

Treedog..that is the typical Winchester bedding job out of a glue gun. No it would be hard to look at it in a picture because it looks like there is clearance albeit small clearance. Thanks for the offer though
