I said that would post the results of my test firing of my mew Tikka T3 in 25-06 and I am pleased to report that they are excellent. I tried 3 types of factory ammo but it liked the Federal 117 gr Sierra Gamekings best. With these and firing across the hood of my truck with only a jacket or two as a rest results at 100 yards were typically as the following photo depicts
If I did my part one inch or better groups were common at 100 yards. I also fired it from 200 yards and 300 yards at a deer target with vitals printed on it. At 200 I skimmed a bullet just over the heart and exactly where I was aiming. At 300 I hit it in the lungs but about 3 inches right of where I aimed but at that distance I'm sure I pulled it a bit.
I couldn't be more pleased. I however have little experience with sierra gameking bullets. Would love to hear any opinions or experiences with them.

Just a couple of questions for you? How long will your shots at game typically be, and what will your quarry be? I assume you will be hunting deer with it? The 117 Gamekings should do fine for deer out to 300 yds or so if you can do your part. One suggestion would be to bring your 100 yard zero up about 2 1/2" to allow you a longer "point blank range," which allows you to hold dead center on a deer's chest out to about 300 yards, (not sure exact yardage, but it should be close to that), and make a kill every time. Nice looking groups you have there!

Yeah I think that I am going sight it in at least 1 inch high at 100 yards. 300 yards is about the maximum possible shot distance where I hunt. And yes this will primarily be used for deer but I may use it to tag the occasional coyote as well.

I just got the Tikka T3 Lite .243 .... and I must admit... Tikka... Sako ... err... Beretta (LOL) is doing something right. This is my favorite gun now... and I own a Rem BDL .270, a Ruger M77 30-06 and the Tikka. I think Tikka is gonna sell a hell of a lot of guns .. and I know my next gun (if a bolt action) will definitely be another Tik.

I got my Tikka T3 a couple of months ago in .308. I am really pleased with the whole package. The trigger is very good right out of the box, the bolt is smooth, and it is a shooter. I am getting 1/2" three shot groups w/ factory ammo. I am working up some handloads now to see what it can do.
