hey i live in ny an i hunt deer alot an i wanna get a new gun frm the 243 cause its not mine an i was usin it so there an i dont want somethin big as 30.06 i want a gun in the 500$ an lower range

Check Wal-Mart and other type stores and see what kind of rifles with scope packages you can find. Don't hesitate to check pawn shops or look in the want ad section of the newspapers. Don't get hung up with the bigger "name" rifles either. A straight barrel that shoots good is what you need. You have plenty of time to look around, so don't get in too big of a hurry.

30-30 is a good all around rifle you can get them at walmart for real cheap too and even cheaper in pawn shops just be careful when you look in pawn shops sometimes they`ll slip in a piece of junk or someone will pawn a gun because its broke or something but like timbercruiser said check walmart almost all of there guns are under $500 and most are way under that and they have some good brands too

I just got a remington 710 30-06 and its under $400 and i love it ..... it came with a bushnell scope. Im also looking for a 30-30 if anyone one out there has one for sell.

You should be able to find a new Savage, Rem ADL or Howa/Weatherby Vangaurd in your price range. The other option would be looking for a used in gun/pawn shops, want adds, etc. Not sure if your looking for something more than a 243, but I'd consider looking into a 7mm-08 which will offer more bullet choice, umf and similar recoil. Other choice's would be a 270win or 308 win both are excellent deer cartridges, offer load of offerings (guns and ammo) and managable recoil. 25-06 would be another one to consider but chamberings and ammo would be less then others mentioned.

Don't jump past the 260 Rem. if you should come across one. Light recoil, and I think better performance than 243, for deer within 150 yds. anyway.
