I am not saying you are flinching but my dad had that problem with his 270 wby mag and sent it back to weatherby because it was not hitting right and they shot it and sent back the targets and they were right on. So you may be flinching and may want to send it back to weatherby.

I don't mean to swerve your decision. If you really want one of these things, by all means do what you feel is right. Otherwise, why not consider a 30-06 or .308? You may even want to ackley them. But then, I guess that would put things back to my above statement.

I have a .300 Weatherby Vanguard also. It will shoot 1" groups or less @ 100 with handloads,and a little fine tuneing on the trigger. The only reason I picked one up is for a elk hunt I have planed for 2005 season in New Mexico if the draw goes my way...:eek:

remember that the rifle is always more accurate then the shooter..
i have shot the weatherby mark 5 in .300 mag and i loved it... you can get a jap weatherby at walmart in the .300 mag for about 4 bills... |
