I shoot a ruger m-77 in stainless with a composit stock i use 165grn. nosler balistic tips and it shoots awsome

The info on Remington is incorrect. The saftey issues were on pre-1982
bolt action models only. On all models made after 1982 you are able to unload the gun with the safty in the "on" position.

Personally, I have always like Remington long guns the best.
