Varmints and Paper Targets BEWARE!!!!
My new Blaser LRS2 in .308 topped with a Leupold Vari-X III 8.5-25X50 Long Range Target.
Manufactured by Blaser and imported by Sig.
The last pic gives me thoughts that would make the anti-gunners soil their panties.
I will hopefully get to the range this weekend to start the break in if the storms hold off.
The screw in the end of the barrel is for a mirage shield that is supposedly very effective in helping disperse the heat rising of the barrel.
For those that want to know, fully rigged like in the pics but empty of ammo it weighs 12.5lbs.

Fully rigged like it sits, nearly $3500.
Rifle: $2170 ($20 over cost, start checking the prices on the rifle and see what you come up with)
Scope: $700 ($20 over cost, cheapest I've seen it anywhere else has been $830)
Scope Mount: $200 (cost)
Throw in tax, a scopecoat, the bipod and bipod adapter and it pretty well kills a $3500 bill.
A friend of mine is a FFL dealer that will hunt and pressure his distributors for the best deal, then sell to me for cheap. He gets better discounts by selling so many guns, and spending more money with his distributors, and likes getting odd items so he can check them out. The cheaper he gets his guns, the cheaper he sells them and the more he sells.

Yeah, I've got an addiction.
But I'm really into precision rifles right now and I get the feeling they are only going to go up from here, the one I bought in March I've $2200 in, I'm beginning to see a pattern.
A 50 BMG is on my short list.

Range Report.
I went to the range late this afternoon to start the break in process, shoot 1, clean, shoot 1, clean. I managed to get through the first 10 shots without too much agony and then hung up a target at 100 yards for a quick 3 shot group as the bugs were beginning to eat me alive.
This is 3 shots with UMC 150 grainers at 100 yards using the bipod as a front rest and a small shot filled bag at the rear.
Can anyone say "laser"? I wonder what this thing will do with proper ammo and some more break in.
