I would have to choose my all around favorite 300 wm. It has a wide variety of bullet weights, and can be used for just about anything

Skip Korea and head on over to the states. From what you say, i think you ougta move to one of the western states. I love it here!

I own a Remington Sendero 7mm-STW. I love this rifle. I use it for all of my open country hunting. Deer, Antelope & some elk hunting.
The 300-win mag is my old & proven elk rifle.

I would say the 300-win mag is a better all-aroud gun for hunting in the west, from the list you provided.

in my opinion the 30-06 is one heck of a round. but if i were to pick i like my 300 wsm but any one of the rounds you named is good for western game.

I would actually have to say the 270 or 280 only because those are the two rifles that we have at hunting camp and we have never had a problem with either one but if i get a new rifle its gonna be the 7mm rm

Any of those is excellent. I am now using a 7mm Rem. Mag., but used a 270 Win. for over 20 years with entire satisfaction. However, the .300 Win. has just a little bit of an edge on the other three, not much, but some!

I really like the 30-06 for hunting here in the northeast, but if I lived where there were long range shots most of the time, I would go with the 300 Win Mag.
