BigBulls, I think you have all comments made covered LOL..I just hope that small elk gun you have doesn't spook the game whatever it maybe..That's something you might consider. Make a Camo cover for it.
If anybody can set you up with a scope for it Leupold can. Trashco might but probably wouldn't hold up to the light recoil.You have allot to consider before taking it elk hunting. Even more if you're going to try it out on Chipmunks or cottontails.

Oh great, by next year this time, there wil be discussion on this board how some of the ultrasuperduper short magnums are no longer powerful enough to hunt elk with.[:@]

Is that considered a "long magnum"?
If you shoot into a herd I hope you have more than one tag. But then who will count the parts anyway.
Where can I get one. I have enough powder to get the bullett at least half way down the barrel.
