RE: 22 Mag
I was going to buy one a while back, but my gunsmith talked me out of it. I have also heard mostly bad things about it from other people. If you are happy with yours that's all that counts. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

RE: 22 Mag
Ditka, Ive had a marlin 25mn for about 2 years now and i love it. Got for about $160 at wal-mart and its pretty accurate, especially for the notoriously inaccurate 22mag.(seem fine to me)The only thing is, shells cost $7 for a box of 50, and you can get a box of 100 22lr for about $3. I bought a ruger 10/22 because it got too expensive to shoot the mag. |

I had one. The trigger was crap, the workmanship was shotty and the thing jammed all the time. Don't tell me I don't know what I am talking about <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face='Verdana, Arial, Helvetica' size=2 id=quote>
I'm with you on this one. Sold my 597 because it wasn't worth my time shooting it. Ditka: If you are looking for a handgun, check out the Ruger single-six. It shoots .22 with one cylinder and you can get another cylinder that will shoot .22 magnum. |
RE: 22 Mag
Screw the semi autos....go with a Winchester 9422 in 22Win Mag....you'll love it. Very fun and accurate to shot/hunt with.
It's my #1 bobcat shoot'n iron! |

RE: 22 Mag
ruger makes a 10/22 magnum. they seem to be hard to find though. they also make a 96/22 mag lever. and i must agree that the 597 is junk. i would go with a ruger on a 22. they seem to do that very well! marlin next. but if you want cheap you better stick with 22 lr.
