Default Mueller scopes?

Anybody got their hands on or looked through one of these things yet? Just wondering what kind of quality they really are. I have a Leupold vari-XIII on my main hunting rifle but I have a few other rifles that I would like to mount a new scope on and don't care to drop 500 bucks on them since I don't use them nearly as much as my Browning A-bolt. An ill rec on a decent scope for less than 200 bucks is tempting.

Give Bushnell elite's 3200 or Sightron for that dollar range. I haven't had a single problem with the 3200 and very clear for the $$$$. I have heard a lot of people sing the praises of Sightron as well.

Good Luck

That ocular lens/reticle housing, plus the ponderous adjustment knobs, make it look like a real clunker to me! I prefer something a lot slicker on a hunting rifle, like the old 28mm objective version of the Leupold 2X-7X variable......

The Mueller is probably excellent, technically, just too ponderous!

Hi, Yes I have one of the Mueller 4-16x50AO Sport Dot illuminated Scopes. Although they may look bulky, the specifications show that they actually weigh slightly less than the Bushnell 4200 and the Nikon 4-16x50 which are non-illuminated scopes. The FOV@100 yds is also wider than these 2 scopes and the Leupold Vari X II. Personally I like it very much and it tracks very well too. I highly recommend it for the price which is under $180 direct from Mueller Optics or as low as $169 on Ebay.
