I am a complete Hornady fan(no secret there!!),but have not tried the SST yet.Has anyone had the chance to use it and if so ,what are your thoughts??How does it compare with the Ballistic tips?I currently use the 140gr Interlock in my .270,and I'm not trying to open up the debate over whether these(BT's/SST's) are adequate for deer or not, just want some honest feedback......thanx.

I use Hornady Light Magnum Model 8554 which is a .270 cal, 130 gr., SST Interlock Bullet. In my T/C encore with a 3-9X40 Nikon Monarch I can routinely get 1.5" groups. That is if I let the gun do it
I've killed one pig (went ~20 paces) and three deer (one went 5 paces and two went nowhere) over the last two seasons. I originally started with them for the tight group, but they've proved themselves in the field for me!

I use the 130 gr. SST in my 270 Win. I shot a white tail deer just over 300 yards and it dropped in its tracks. Then a mule deer at 150 yards and it to drop were it was standing. I like the bullet.
