Ok, i have had my eye on this gun for some time now, just wanted to hear some of your thoughts on it. I have a Win.Model 70 30.06 now but looking for something new. I never had stainless/snythic before, is there anything bad about it ? It's going to be a 270 cal. , i wanted a 25.06 but Winchester doesn't offer it in stainless. The gun will be for hunting deer. I thought about a Ruger but i'm a WINCHESTER man so that's the brand i want to stick with but i wasn't sure what caliber to get but i hear good things about 270's. Thanks !

You might look at the new Win. Feather Light in the 270 WSM. I really like mine. It shoots flat. If your wanting something in the 25-06 cal. You might look at the Howas.
Just a thought.

Just bought a Win. Model 70 stainless, heavy barrel in .243. Shoots very well with Win. PPS 100 gr. but after cleaning takes several rounds to
"come back in." Due to the Moly., I guess. Anyway, how do you guys break in a stainless barrel? What are your cleaning methods and regimen? This is my first stainless.

I thought I might add this, to let you know that I have been hunting with the 270 sinse about 9 years of age. No they dont have alot of recoil. But for some they might. I shoot alot of heavy mags. My 375 RUM has about the most recoil that I want to deal with. After shooting it you really cant tell that you have shot a 270 Win. Really a mild firearm, And ONE of the best DEER guns out today. It was my first big game cal. and I still have it today.

I must like my 338 Win. Mag. and my 358 Norma Mag too much, and my 375 H&H.
