They say a 20ga will do fine, but I wouldn't take less than a 12ga with 3 mags in 2-4 shot out to about 35 yrds. Some people prefer the Goose nightmare 10gauges, but I don't think that that's neccesary.

i use a rem. 870 super mag in advantage camo. 3 1/2 " 12 ga. not only puts the hurt on a turkey but makes you pay a little also. i think a 3" is good enough. i like the 870 but i wouldnt mind having a 11-87 sp. as far as range pattern your gun. see how it patterns. try diffrent chokes and use good judgement.

I use a 3" 870 express mag with a super full turkey choke. Tight patterns out to 40 yds. No matter what gun you buy, pattern it and know your effective range. Most guns that allow you to put a turkey choke on them will be good out to 35 or 40 yds.

I use the Remington 870 pump in extra full, 3" shells. I like the 4x6 duplex or Winchester #5. Good out to 45 yards, knocks 'em down, does everything but make the gravy!

I'VE GOT A WEATHERBY ORION O/U AND ABOUT THE ONLY THING I USE IT ON ARE TURKEYS. I PREFER 3" #4'S AND TRY TO LIMMIT MY SHOTS UNDER 35 YDS. I'VE GOT A PUMP AND 2 AUTOS THAT GET USED ALL YEAR LONG, BUT COME TURKEY SEASON I LIKE THE ORION.
