Also look to the Franchi line. I have a Alcione and I absolutely love it. In fact, I just ordered a second barrel set for it. They come prefitted so their is no headspacing. Pretty cool to get a 20ga and 12ga with one gun.
As for the O/U shooting from the auto, it definately makes you a better shot. Only two shells vs having up to five in the auto is a big difference. Also slows down chances at multiples of greater than two, not that I endorse that as a full time practice.

The two best OU I have ever shot are the Browning Citori and the Ruger Red Label. The Red Label should run you about $1100 new and the Citori's are a little higher at around $1500. The Citori is the better gun in my opinion, but the Red Label is a much better buyand I would go with that.
