Don't know about the new ones, but the old ones were junk. IMHO, they are ugly and klunky. If you want a gun in that price range, look at Biakel's O/U!
Benelli USA is the current importer of Stoeger I believe. May be better now. My understanding is that they don't hold up well under heavy fire.

I have this shotgun. I don't know why I bought it but it is in my gun cabinet. I have put very few shells through it, but soo far haven't had a problem. My only complaint is the wood is not of very high quality and the bluing is different and seems to show fingerprints in a very bad way. Other then that shooting wise, mine handles well, and shoots well. I don't know if it is the deluxe model though as I bought it 2 years ago. It isn't fancy or anything like that but for the money I have no complaints. Maybe someone else who's Stoeger has been battle tested would have better insight though.
