jjoel,
I heard that the VX-I is nothing more than the old VariX-II with gloss finish, on which the price has been reduced for competition purposes. It has friction adjustments and the same lens coatings. The VX-II has click adjustments and better lens coatings.
It is unlikely that anyone will have a chance to do a serious test for awhile since they were only recently introduced. The gun magazines will undoubtedly have reports, but the tests of those which accept a products advertising are usually suspect.
Leupold has always made quality products, and has a lifetime warranty, so I don't see how you can go wrong.
