Default Versitile caliber

What would you consider to the most versitile caliber in that it can move from deer to moose to elk and we are not talkin break the deer in two kind of power. Remington brags about the versitile 7mm-08 but I really dont see killing moose with the little guy.My guesses would be the 7mm rem mag, 270 or 30-06. What do you think?
I'm leaning toward the 7mm rem mag.

I would definitely go with the 7mm mag.It is flatter shooting than the 30-06 and carries more energy than the 30-06 and 270.I find recoil to be comparable to the 30-06 as most 7mm mag rifles are a little heavier due to a slightly longer barrel. The 7mm mag is suitable on all game from antelope to elk to moose under all conditions you may encounter

30-06, plenty of choices in bullet design & weight, you can get ammo or components nearly anywhere in the world and you can find rifles in all action types.

I'd have to say 30-06 or 300 win mag. The 06 has a better selection of ammo available, but the 300 is a true deer or moose gun. (and anything in between)

Tough choice between .30-06 and 7 mag. Both are good guns. The 7 mag has more power, but the .30-06 has bigger bullets. I would feel fine taking either caliber after anything in North America. I wouldn't want to take anything bigger or tougher than elk with the .270.

if larger game (moose) are in question i would say you have to go with the 30-06 because of the heavier bullts for better penetration
