I havnt shot the Savage But I got a T-3 as an early Xmas present and I love it , it's the best shooting out of the box rifle I have ever owned. Mine is in .300WSM but I think Id be just as happy with the 30-06 which I have always been a fan of due to .30 calibers large bullet selection.

I'll defend the Savage. I have two and they are great shooters. I have never had any problems with the quality of the rifle, the scope on the package on the other hand.......but the rifles are the best out of the box accurate rifle in the market. I have a Tikka whitetail hunter as well and it is a great gun.......that said, you can buy the savage w/o the scope, put a quality scope on in and be just over what you will pay for the Tikka alone. My .270 Savage was bought used, I never touched the reticle adjustments and have taken deer from 25yards to 385 with it. The quality is at the top. Sould take the Savage over about any Remington, and for sure any remington for the same $$$. My .22-250 is sub-1/2moa!

Ok, guys explain this to me. Ever since American Rifleman and few other companies did an article on these T3's, thats all I have been hearing on this page for the past 2 to 3 months. T3 this, t3 that.
So I took a look at these T3's at Cabelas the other day. Decent looking firearm, reminds me of a A-Bolt clone. Have nothing against. But at the range last night, and the range officer finally got his that he also was all jazzed up about. Shot 1.5" to 2" groups. Nothing spectactular. He was still confident that he would find the load it liked in a later date. I can get an A-Bolt for maybe 50 to 100 more dollars with a better reputation.
So guys educate me. Why is this gun so outstanding? I mean I wouldn't mind having it. Just seems everyone on this page has gone Tikka nuts.
Why is owning European so much important than owning Jap.
