I have bought over a dozen guns on gunbroker. If you take your time and wait for what you want and deal with established sellers you can do well. First line up your transfer agent and set your max price before you bid and don't get caught up in a bidding war. I have to pay 8 1/2% sales tax on local purchases. No tax for on line out of state buys. That more than offsets the shipping and transfer fee.

I have found gunbroker.com to be head and shoulders above the local gunshops for turning guns (I don't care for anymore) into cash and then turning that cash back into guns (I do want) again.
