With the deer season starting to wind down and from the way your hunts went this year, what are your next years projects? Things went well for me but I think I will change the trigger on my 257 Roberts. Its a 700 Remington which I can usually adjust myself but the adjustment screw if frozen solid and its a bit heavy for use as a Varmit-Deer rifle. The feed ramp needs to be polished as well. The gun shoots great groups and should be worth a little refinement. I need to put a new Synthetic stock on my 6.5x55. The old militery stock has developed a crack from the tang on back a couple of inches. I am real happy with the NEF Handi rifle in 280. That one was a bargin. Happy thanksgiving to all.

My next project will be to find a good load for my wife' s Ruger M-77 Mark-II 223.
I am hoping this gun will like 40-grain bullets & Varget powder? I will let the gun decide what it likes best.

My next project slated is to pick up a second hand CZ 550 Safari Magnum in 458WinMag and then convert it to a 458 Lott. Time will tell whether I get around to putting together this cottontail rifle or not. It will necessitate running some more inventory through Gunbroker.com for cash and then lying in wait for it to become available.

My first project is to fix up an old savage pump in 30-30 that was given to me by my neighbor, it needs the stock redone, reblued, and some work to the trigger. Has anyone ever seen a savage pump in 30-30 this is the first one I have ever run into. It is a very neat gun, it has the top tang safety and it is quite short. Will definitly make a nice camp gun in the future.

Kyle, I' m guessing that gun was made about 1960-1962.
It' s actually a fine rifle but the public wanted levers more than pumps and there was a very few sold.
I suspect it might have some collectors value.....who knows?

Kyle. I had one of those Savage pump 30-30 rifles. It was a good shooting rifle. I often wondered why they didn' t make it a clip feed instead of staying with the tubular magazine. That would have allowed the safe use of spitzer bullets. I saw a used one at Scheels all sports in Sioux Falls SD about a month ago.

James, I am curious what did they want for it?? It shoots really good but just needs some loving care. It is a nice caring rifle and will be another nice addition to the safe when I am done w/ it.
