Leupold to discontinue Vari-X III and VX II scopes in 2004?

Leupold to discontinue Vari-X III and VX II scopes in 2004?
I got a Natchez Shooters Supply catalog a few days ago and on the page that lists all the Leupold scopes, they state that Leupold will discontinue the line of Vari-X III and VX II scopes as of January 2004. What' s up with that? If that is the case, then what has Leupold got up it' s sleeve to replace these two lines of scopes with? This is the first that I' ve heard about this, anybody else know any news on this??

they are dropping there line of variX-III and VX-II to come out with the VX-III. it will be just like the variX-III. so they can promot the rifleman and VX-I scopes. go to www.midwayusa.com. they talk breifly about it.
