6.5 Japanese Thoughts
#1

Any of you have experience with the 6.5 Japanese ? (6.5x50SR)
I recently traded for a high combed sporter that reminds me of a Remington Model 7 youth gun and picked up some Hornady Reloads with 139grain bullets.
Reminds me alot of the new Creedmoor that everybody is all googly-eyed about.
Wood Stocks and Vintage stories have always caught my eye.
Any hunters or shooters out there with reviews of this round?
Not scoped and wondering if i should invest the time to drill/tap or no?

I have one and handloaded for it years ago. If I recall it has a metford orpolygonal style rifling and liked heavier round nosed bullets. I believe lighter 6.5 spitzers key holed, likely due to the rate of twist in the barrel.

I wouldn't hesitate to take it out hunting though for black bear or deer. I may have to dust it off this spring.
